I want to use JS3's MIDI output to push Superior Drummer 2, so I have just a couple of questions:

1) Is there a global way to control JS3's midi output channel, or do I just have to select the desired channel for each sound?

2) Are there "unique" JS3 MIDI sounds (perhaps like a cymbal wash?) that won't effectively translate to Superior Drummer via the JS3 MIDI output? And, if so, is there a way to get a list of these JS3-specific sounds which can't be properly transmitted via MIDI out?

Thanks!

3.2.0 lets you assign the MIDI channel or the whole kit.

Thanks, Ralph!!

Also, do you have any info on the second questions from above:

"2) Are there "unique" JS3 MIDI sounds (perhaps like a cymbal wash?) that won't effectively translate to Superior Drummer via the JS3 MIDI output? And, if so, is there a way to get a list of these JS3-specific sounds which can't be properly transmitted via MIDI out? "

Thanks again, Ralph. And now I'm trying to come up with a strategy to use JS3 to push Superior Drummer 2 (midi out only, since I don't need JS3 to produce the sounds that Superior is producing), yet also be able to simultaneously have JS3 output it's other "unique" sounds -- not just things like a cymbal wash (as related to the above question), but tambourine, shaker, and other Jamcussion sounds that Superior Drummer doesn't even deal with...

You can use the 'Show Key Map' function in the kit menu to see all sounds, their MIDI keys and what they are mapped to. Cymbal washes do not have special samples in JS.

So, if I understand correctly, everything that Jamstix 3.2.0 can output (regarding the standard drum kit) will be correctly interpreted by Superior Drummer 2 (assuming I select the Superior Drummer 2 kit in Jamstix) -- is that correct?

Also, I'm going to start another thread asking if anybody has a good JS (including Jamcussion) and Superior Drummer 2 integration strategy.

Thanks again, Ralph. The more familiar I become with Jamstix, the more I like it.

The SD maps in JS3 should cover what is possible.
