Hi Ya'll
I just downloaded the Jamstix3 demo and finally got MC5 to recognize the plug in. my problem is I can load a jamstix track, but I get no audio except the random noise. I've searched the forum but there is nothing specific to MC5. I've tried some of the other fixes but nothing is working
Are MC5 and Jamstix not compatible? Or is there a fix someone knows about.
Appreciate any and all responses
BTW, I can use my cursor in the kit window to get individual sounds out of each piece, I just can't run a loop after loading a song in the wizard |

After loading a song in the wizard and pressing play in MC5:
- do the bar/beat numbers advance in Jamstix?
- do you see notes generated in the bar editor of JS
- if so, are those notes crossed out in red? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I don't get much time online during the week.
Ralph, here's I just did. I opened MC5 and loaded a jamstix track.
loaded 12 bar blues into to the wizard. At that point I press the lock/unlock key beneath the normal, midi and audio jam bar and nothing happens.
I'm presuming that is the play button for preview.
If click on the loop icon in the composer window, it seems to start looping but no audio. I see the bar/beat numbers but I don't see any notes generated. |

Sounds as if you don't have MC playing, do you? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

First of all, I want to apologize for this long winded post
After your previous response, I opened MC5 and loaded Jamstix so I could review the steps I took and answer the questions you asked and the first attempts were just to preview the same way I would preview the on-board drum kit that comes with MC.
But this time, I did also load a track with Jamstix and the timebar would run through the track with no audio.
There's probably something I don't have optioned correctly with MC5, but with the pitiful lack of documentation, I haven't been able to find the problem.
I have loaded "freeware" VSTs before in MC5 successfully but that's been awhile back.
I'll keep looking in MC5 and maybe I'll stumble across the fix.
Thanks for the support you're giving someone who just downloaded a demo program. If I ever get it running, I'll probably by Jamstix even if I don't like it:) |

Allright! Got JS demo to at last loop and play with audio in preview mode, I feel so stoooopid, I was apparently previewing the the first bar/measure and it was empty, ergo, no audio.
I'm also able to load a track and play with audio in MC5, but there are x'd out notes in the composer window which I presume is the missing sounds in the demo version.
OK I'm taking a chance and I'm gonna go buy the full version now.
Thanks again for the help and support, I'm sure I'll have some more misadventures I'll need help with in the near future. |
