|
|
Hi there, I'm using Acid Pro 7. I have a midi drum track -- actually it is 6 tracks, one for each piece of the drumkit. Each track is assigned to a single instance of Jamstix 3 (demo). All outputs go to the single Jamstic audio buss which Acid creates when I choose at as a VSTi.
What I want to do is send each of the drum tracks to its own audio buss, rather than to just the Jamstix buss, so I can apply different audio fx (panning, compression, eq etc) to each part of the kit.
In the manual I see that under the Kit tab I can choose from a dropdown list which parts go where within Jamstix' own internal mixer.. but what then? In the Mixer view if I deactivate "Downmix" I only hear the kick drum; and there seems to be no obvious way to send the other parts anywhere. Any advice? |

If you only hear the kick, then Acid is not routing the other Jamstix outputs. Please refer to the Acid docs on how to setup multiple audio outputs for VSTi. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Had the Acid docs had anything on this, I wouldn't have asked.
Anyway, I've since learned how to do it, thanks to "Susiwong" on the KVR forum and "pHuNzOne" on AcidPlanet's forum.
Settings to change in Jamstix (Susiwong):
"You're on the right track if you only hear the kick. Set "never downmix" in options and choose an output template via the little arrow in the middle in kit view (the "8 out template" is recommended). Make sure you configured 8 stereo outs in the JS options, too...l 8 mixer channels should be on (yellow LED), FX off (blue). Now JS sends audio to 8 individual outputs.
The remaining step would be to activate 8 stereo VSTi channels for JS in your host."
Settings to changte in Acid (pHuNzOnE):
Aftewr insreting Jamstix, "Go to the mixing console and if Jamstix is the first VSTi you installed, it will show a little '1' in a red box at the upper left with 'Synth' right next to it.
Right click on the word 'Synth' at the top of the mixing channel. The fourth option down in the context menu that opens, just below delete, starts with "Insert/..."
Click this and you will have the options to route the VSTi output to as many new buses as available on the VSTi"
Works like a charm. |
