Hi all, I'm trying Jamstix demo with Cubase SX 3, but i'm having probles working with it.

What I would do is plug a guitar into my sound card (Edirol AU-20, not that great, I know) and jam along with Jamstix.

Now, i create an audio track and load AudioM8 as insert effect. Then I create a midi track and load Jamstix as VST. After that, i'm stuck and don't really know how to proceed.

Can you help starting this thing, or link a tutorial?

Sorry for this newbye question, but I bought Cubase SX 3 years ago just to record audio tracks, I've never worked with midi things, but now I've discovered Jamstix and it looks pretty nice. I would like to buy it but I must understand if it fits to me.

Edit: Sorry, this one should have been posted into Technical support forum... missed it. Feel free to lock it, and I will open a new thread into the right section!

Thanks for all help you would give to me, and sorry for my English!

For now I recommend you switch to 'Normal Jam' and load a quickstart song from the wizard panel. This loads parts, styles, drummers and a kit. Now play Cubase and Jamstix will play in synch with it.

Next step would be audio jam so you can see how Jamstix reacts to your guitar volume. After that, try changing styles and drummers to get the groove that you would like.

Thanks
When you say "now play cubase" you mean that I have to create an audio track to play guitar on? Or load an external audio (for example a wav file)?

With "Play Cubase" I mean press Play in Cubase. For Jamstix to play, Cubase must be playing or recording.

If you want to audio jam, you can either use an audio track with your live guitar signal or an audio track with prerecorded material.

I tried and I see the midi led in cubase midi track moving, as the channel is receiving signal from Jamstix, but i can hear no sound from the speakers.
I set jamstick as input and output.
Any ideas?

Edit: ofc the track is not muted, and the monitor is ON

Edit 2: if i set "Edirol UA-20 MIDI" as output, i can see MIDI activity on the transport bar (don't know if this is the correct name, I translated it beacuse I have the italian version of Cubase SX 3)

Edit 3: if I record, i can see som midi is recording, but still can hear no sound, even in playback mode

Did you load a quickstart song or selected a style, drummer and kit?

Quickstart song.
All seem to work: Jamstix plays and send signal to Cubase. But no sound heard from the speakers. I tried several combinations of input/output in the midi track and tried to load different audio drivers, but still no sound. That's weird....

Edit: maybe, because is a demo, there aren't all the sounds and the songs i've loaded are "empty"? ... don't know, just an idea...
