This is my first post here, but wanted to know if anyone has heard the Addictive Drums Retro Ludwig kit and could compare them to the Bonzo Pak drum sounds. I've got the Retro kit and wanted to expand. A friend told me about Rayzoon so...I check out the demo audio files and they sound good. Thanks for any advice here.

One last thing, is Jamstix similar to Addictive Drums being that it allows you to freely play the drum kit, or are the sounds strictly loops?

Nate

Or maybe someone can comment on the Bonzo Pak for me. I've already been using the Retro pack from A.D.

Hope this isn't a conflict of interest posting this question here.

Did you know that you can subhost AD from JS and use AD's drumkits (including Retro) and let JS compose/play for/with you?

Btw, Bonzo Pak is not just additional drum pieces, it's also 10 new styles. Smile And for only $39 for a few more days it's a steal, since it also sounds pretty good.

Thanks for the info. How does it compare to the kits/sounds that I mentioned I'm already using?

As I only have the basic AD I canīt comment on this, sorry.

Of course you can also play Jamstix drum kits by using Midi comands. In this regard JS is indeed similar to AD, BUT:
Jamstix is SO MUCH MORTE THAN THAT! Jamstix is a real time composing software that generates Drum patterns on the fly. No static loops here.
Thereīs no software around that does remotely the same.

Conclusion: Sound comparison alone wonīt do Jamstix justice. Please check out what it can do for you concerning the creation of drum parts.
I will also say that Jamstix in general and especially the Bonzo Pak contain very well sampled drums.

I now have both of them and my impression so far is that Bonzopak is better. The biggest advantage to me are the styles, but the drumsounds are also better in Bonozopak than AD retro. Which is kind of an added bonus, since I thought that they'd be better in AD - I just wanted the styles to play with.
