|
|
hello to all!
just downloaded Jamstix 3 XL (step 2) and i can't access it to install the kits (step 3) because i can't find the plugin (no icons installed). it should be on my start menu but it isn't.
i've uninstalled/installed twice with the same results: how do i get to the kit screen (GUI), what am i over-looking?
(win-7, 64 bit) thanks in advance.

You need to open Jamstix in your host. Then you can install the kits.

| that doesn't work either. i've never had a problem with a plugin before...until i find the GUI i can't do step 3, if i'm correct. i want to use this with my edrums as well. maybe the download was corrupted, i'll try re-downloading the software. |

What is your host? Did you check the search path of the host to make sure it can find JS3? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

i am using studio one pro and live 8 with edrums and yes i did check.
according to your quickstart guide it recommends NOT to install in "program files" or "program files (x86)". i think that is the problem. i installed in the "c:\jamstix3" and "c:program files (x86)VstPlugins", so do i move the file out of program files? and where are the icons? |

Jamstix is a VSTi plugin so there are no icons. You start Jamstix in your host like any other VST instrument.
If you chose "c:\program files (x86)\VstPlugins" as the plugin destination during install then make sure your host(s) have that location registered.
If that does not help, check if the host has excluded JS for some reason. Please also try running the host via right-click->Run As Admin and rescan for plugins. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

everything looks just fine with the hosts; have to admit that i'm lost, obviously no one else has had this problem according to search so it must be something i'm doing or not doing (do i need a bit adapter?).
i have to prepare for clients now so i will try again tomorrow. |

| i don't know what i did but Ableton Live 8 now recognizes Jamstix but Studio One Pro does not; which is okay since i have Session Drummer on Live 8. i guess i will eventually figure it out for S1 Pro. |
