Just trying to cover the bases. JS works very well with REAPER. Something is keeping REAPER from detecting it. If all fails, please give full access to anyone to the the 'jamstix3demo' folder. If that also fails, please see if you have a rzdlog.txt file in Documents\Jamstix3. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I guess I need help on this. How do i give the folder full access?
Also, I am using reaper while as an administrator so I think I should have full access to it, right?
Oh and I do not see rzdlog.txt anywhere. |

Just right click on 'jamstix3demo' in the windows explorer and set the permissions to Everyone. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I know you said you were, but are you sure you're running Reaper 32 bit? I just went through the same thing (seeing the audiom8 plugin but no jamstix) and it was because I was running Reaper 64 bit. I uninstalled Reaper, installed the 32 bit version and everything worked as it should. |

| Yeah I thought about that too before. I removed reaper 64 and installed the 32 bit version. It didn't work. I even used Revo uninstaller to make sure everything is out. I did it twice just in case... same results. Which directory did you install the Jamstix folder... Just curious cuz I don't know if it matters. |

I installed Jamstix 2 in Program Files (x86) then added the Jamstix2 folder to Reaper's VST search. When I upgraded to Jamstix 3, I again installed into Program Files (x86) but when prompted for the dll location, I put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\REAPER\Plugins\FX
Reaper found it automatically there. Hope that helps. |

I was originally installing the folder in the C drive cause that's where it was defaulting then copied the dlls in Reaper\Plugins.
Didn't work so I uninstalled then I tried to put the entire Jamstix folder in the Reaper\Plugins folder.
Then I tried putting the dll in the Reaper\Plugins\FX folder just to be sure. Still not seeing it.
Maybe something different with the Demo version? |

Very odd. Do you have another host so we can test JS itself? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I only have reaper. I don't have the budget for another software. Is there a free one I can use to test it? |

| Ok I tried Audacity. Works ok until I placed the jamstixdemo dll in the plugin folder. Then, my Comodo firewall popped up and said that there is a buffer overflow attack. It's telling me to contact vendor for a fix. |

| ok. I uninstalled comodo for a bit. Again, Audacity sees audiom8 but not jamstix demo. Frustrating. |

Sorry about the frustration but something has got to be off here. Do you know SAVIHost? It's a free download that allows you run any VSTi DLL outside of your host. This would allow us to see if JS itself is operating normally on your system. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

You know what's funny, after uninstalling Comodo, I reinstalled reaper and jamstix. Suddenly, it hit me to hit clear cache/re-scan instead of just pressing re-scan. It then prompted me for the location of the jamstix data folder. Then looks like it was working.
I installed comodo again. Now, jamstix is there in the list now but crashes reaper everytime. Weird. Something with comodo. |
