Canvassing opinions on which host is best for live use of Jamstix....

Crucial features: Low resource use, Very fast switching between songs, WindowsOS

Desirable features: Tempo changes within songs, inexpensive

What should I use?

I don't use any but those are "testable" and aimed for live use:

Forte - 80$
http://www.brainspawn.com

MiniHost - 25$
http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html

Let's see what you or others will write.

Dali

If you only need Jamstix, try SAVIHost which is free. It basically makes an executable version of any VST DLL.

Thanks for the tips.

SaviHost is rather basic but it led to to it's bigger brother VSTHost. Unfortunately I can see no way of changing tempo mid song and the 'performance' saving is a chore because the Jamstix preset has to be saved seperately.

Anyhoo I'll check out Forte.

Cheers chaps Smile

For payware, also consider Reaper. Lots of features and a nice price at US$40.

Yeah, I actually own Reaper but I'm looking for something more lightweight for live use. Do any of you guys actually use Reaper in a live situation?
