I'm using 3.1.3 beta 2 in Reaper.
When I turn on the "Never Downmix" option, most of the features in the drum kit mixer become disabled (the faders don't work, the effects are disabled, etc.). Is that normal?
The only thing in the mixer that I can get to work is the yellow toggle LED for each channel. When I move the faders, the VU meter changes appropriately, but the sound I hear stays the same.
If I turn off the "Never Downmix" option, everything works as expected. I thought "Never Downmix" was just supposed to keep it from downmixing the upper channels onto channels 1-2 -- not disable all the other stuff in the mixer. |

| It does the same on my system.Never been a problem for me though as I like the mixer section for individual drums in a simple stereo mix. |

I also noticed that when I enable the "Never Downmix" option, the resulting audio is 1-2 dB lower than without it checked. I guess that is because the FX in the mixer are being disabled, so whatever audio boost the EQ, Compression, or Echo are set to add is lost.
If I leave the "Never Downmix" option disabled, there is no difference in the audio when I turn on/off the Downmix option in the mixer. |
