I have downloaded the demo on two PCs, one at work running XP w/ SP3 where it run fine as far as I can tell.

On my home DAW it is not working well, it is Win 7 64 and running Reaper 3.71 x64.

I am not able to use the"preview current bar in loop" in the bar manager. The host has to be in play mode, I thought the host had to be stopped to use this control in the bar manager.

Also in the fill menu if I change the character t fill type mode from free form to groove Jamstix freezes if I hit compoze until I change it back to straight.

I had demo 3.0 on both machines and it was not working well.

3.1 seems OK on the 32 bit XP machine but not on the 64 bit Win 7 running Reaper 64 bit.

I see the potential of this program but I don't want to be in this mode of spending more time debugging etc than making music with it. I hope there is a solution.

Help?

Preview Bar: you must arm the track in REAPER for it to send timing info

Groove Fill: I can confirm this and will look into a fix.

I am also finding that there is a crash at the beginning of a measure that does not appear in the bar manager in groove, accent or fill.

I am new to the program so it may be my inexperience.

Is the bar manager supposed to show every hit and type of hit that is made?

edit: Just had Jamstix vanish from my one track reaper session and upon trying to show the Jamstix interface I get a 3 slider gray reaper looking ui...

Start and end crashes of fills do not show up in the bar editor. You can control them with the corresponding check boxes in the fill tab. You can also set them globally in the brain menu fill options.

Thanks, I will try that. That session just crashed so I will have to retry another one. I don't mean to sound negative and want this software to work for me and also appreciate your speedy attention.

Although I beleive I had the checkboxes unchecked.

Why is 64 bit more prone to problems than 32 bit and how long until 64 bit is solid?

It's the wrapper layer in the host to translate from 32 to 64 bit. Those wrappers are continually improving, though. At some point we will have a native 64-bit version of Jamstix and that will help a lot.

ASIO drivers may also have some impact. We have several W64/REAPER-64 test machines that run Jamstix 3.1 rock-solid.

Anything open to me as far as wrappers (don't know what they are) in reaper that I can do to get Jamstix working well for me? Options?

I just opened it and it is dated 1/31 but I have been on it today. Is that one sufficient?

Never mind, I closed reaper and there is a 2/1 file, sending it in a reply email to you

In Windows XP you can right click on an executable and run it in"Compatibility mode" and choose a backwards O/S.There should be something like this in the later O/S?

Well after using this program I ordered the Studio version. Even with the current bugs I see the value and hope I can work out some of them with the help of this forum.

This is a really nice piece of software, to get equivalent drumtracks programmed via piano roll etc would be to time consuming for me.
