Hey Ralph,
I've been wondering if there's any way to lock a particular hit so it won't get composed over, but have the brain change its velocity and timing. I like creating my own grooves, but I want a natural feel to those beats, as if the drummer knows what I want, but adjusts the feel. Thanks a bunch |

If you use 'Silent' or 'Import' style and create/import your own grooves, the chosen drummer model will only adjust feel, add accents and control fills. If you use a drummer model with groove effects, you can turn those down. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Is there any way to keep the brain from just writing silence whenever an attribute is changed in the brain? I'm liking how the drummer changes the feel and accents and such, but every time I write a groove and then change something in the drummer style, the program starts writing silence as the groove. |

This happens with styles that use logic, which writes chunks of a bar in one go. You can hit COMPOSE when the current bar is almost done, when this problem occurs. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| It's still giving me silence. Do i have to "lock all manually created events" for this to work? Will it still adjust the velocity and timing of the notes I write? Sorry to be pesky, and thanks for all the help! |

By default, all manually created events are locked. Try this: stop the host, got to the "bad" bar and hit COMPOSE, now go one (or more) bar(s) before the part in question in the host and start play. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I was wondering about that. Has this behavior changed since JS2? I was working on a song the other day adn copied the core bars from my verse, chorus ect into a new part. When it went to play the part for the new bars it wrote over most of the drum patterns. I also noticed where the measures kept bouncing back and forth between earlier bars in the verses. I am using 3.01 beta 9 right now. |
