"The Virus" (http://triplejunearthed.com/mezzaforte) is a geeky hip-hop track filled with technical jargon - so it won't be to everyone's taste, that's for sure.
I actually recorded it more than a year and a half ago so some of the tech is out of date. I never finished because the drum track was so boring.
I tried to replicate the original drum loop with JS but gave up and decided to just layer it over the top. I programmed the basic beat using a mixture Electro kits and EQ so that the sounds complimented the original loop. Instead of using the snare I put the snare sample on the Tamborine in the groove and I changed the snare to claps. Then I let "Animal" go for it and adjusted and manually tweaked until I was happy with the result.
It's completely not what I had set out to achieve but I like it all the same.
Using Reaper, FLStudio and JS3.
Appreciate any feedback!

| Thanks Sheppol_A - I don't do much hip-hop these days but I have produced for some mates. This was more of a challenge from them to write a technical verse. I haven't heard anything quite like it before so I figured it was worth sharing. |
