just got JS3 upgrade and am having a lot of troubles with reaper 3.
The issues were with the original instal, the update, and also with the new beta.
I want to have jamstix drive Superior 2. Ideally without subhosting it internally.
The first setup I tried is to load S2 on a track with multi outputs. then in the FX track I loaded jamstix and put it before S2 in the FX string. This setup sort of worked a couple times, where it appeared to work at first but had the behavior I will describe later. After a few re-tries it began to crash my Reaper session with an error message of just mumbo jumbo (I cant read chinese but it looked like what I would imagine chinese cursing would look like) This error would require me to re-boot my pod xt in order for Reaper to see my audio device.
I gave up on that setup and tried putting superior and js3 on seperate tracks and just routed the midi from js to superior. This resolved the chinese crashes, but i have a different issue.
When I use wizzard to creat a song, and begin playback, I will try to modify some of the brain dials and as soon as I left click on the dial, the mouse cursor dissapears.. If I drag the mouse, the value of the dial goes straight to 0 and wont move from there.
This doesnt happen immediately every time. Sometimes the first song I load wil allow me to change the dials around. But if I clear the song and have the wizzard build a new one.. eventually I start getting the behavior.
I updated and also tried the new beta but dont see any change in the behavior.
If this was covered somewhere else in the forums, i apologize, i must have missed it.
I have vista 64 ultimate
reaper 3.73 registered -32 bit
superior 2.2.3 registered - 32 bit
any help is appreciated. |

I'm not having any of these issues when I subhost S2 internally. At least for not this workaround is getting me going.
EDIT: sadly the dissapearing mouse cursor behavior showed up eventually even when subhosting superior within jamstix. |

Until you get a reply from Ralph try what I did when I wanted to use the Addictive Drums demo alongside JS.I just stuck AD on the track next to JS and then routed the midi from JS to AD to operate it.
I wanted a mixed kit using each so routed the snare and kick from JS on midi channel one to operate the Snare and kick in AD but then changed the other midi outs in JS to channel 2 so they didn't play anything in AD and muted the kick and snare in JS.
I'm not into Metal but just wanted to see what I could get out of the two together and this is a quick clip,

Also check for the latest drivers for your video card. |

Does your mouse have it's own software?
Are there any other programs running that may be conflicting? |

| Hey shep, thanks for the reply. I'm using the latest drivers for the microsoft intellepoint keyboard/mouse setup. I havent had any issues with these since I go them a couple years back. I have my pc optimized, there is only essential programs on startup. I dont even have it on the network so there isnt even any firewall or VP on it. Im not at my pc, I may try connecting the mouse/keyboard thingy to a different usb port and see if it helps. |

Make sure USB error correction is disabled in the Device Mangler. It's bogus and not needed.
Also from what I have read Vista 64 bit was a bit of a cludge of an O/S from MS just like ME used to be.
I still run XP pro and will wait until all the bugs have been ironed out of Windows 7.
As you are running a 64 bit O/S shouldn't you be running the 64 bit version of Reaper?

| No, it's fine to run 32 bit Reaper on a 64 bit OS. |
