Ralph,
First, more praise. I'm a guitar player - been playing for about 35 years, of my 45 years on the planet. Been looking for a drummer like this for the last 20 years at least! I have been searching for a jamming drummer that my son and I can just play along to, and occasionally do some recording. Jamstix answers that need perfectly! Thanks so much!
Now my question. I use Audio M8 to jam with in Cubase SX 2. For some reason, even though I have the levels pretty high in the Cubase mixer on the channel (rhythm guitar) that I have Audio M8 as an insert in, the level of Audio M8's needle stays very low. Accordingly, the velocity slider in Jamstix never gets to the power mode, even though I'm pounding the guitar pretty good (vu meters for that channel in Cubase nearly pegged). Is there a sensitivity adjustment in the Audio M8 module? Have you heard of this happening before?
Anyway, I love the program.
Thanks very much,

Hi Andy and thanks for the kind words!
If the levels in audioM8 stay low then the volume going in is low, audioM8 merely translates audio volume into data that Jamstix can process.
Jamstix has two ways for you to adjust the response.
a) Turn the input trim knob in the right bottom corner of Jamstix clockwise until your loudest play triggers power mode.
b) Go to the mapping tab and draw a response curve in the input velocity map that matches your play style. This allows you to define sweet spots. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks very much for the explanation. I thought that the M8's levels weren't close to the levels Cubase was showing me for the audio channel I was driving Jamstix with - but since AudioM8 is getting the audio pre-fader I must have just had the input level too low (from my Firepod into the computer). I raised it up, and that solved the problem.
Thanks for your help and for a great program. I'll be one of the first in line for Jambace when it comes out. I play bass myself too, because of necessity, not because I'm any good at it. But, it's hard to play two instruments at once! Jambace will be a welcome addition to the band!
Thanks again,
