|

hey - i've been jamstix 1 user for while with cubase 3 on my main box,
Ive taken the plunge with cubase 4 on another till i feel safe enough to upgrade all,
I have loaded jamstix 2.1 ( and have the latest cubase 4 version ) just to keep it real simple , audio bass line triggering audio M8 - all good ,lotsa signal - wihin jamstix i have it set to "jam with audio " lots of signal - the drum kit is visually playing - its all good - NO sound from jamstix.
i have checked for any hidden mutes /solos . also uninstalled /reinstalled jamstix ( first time it was showing "missing sounds msg" that is gone now .
Im sure its something reallly stupid - im good a t that !- BUT any known issues about this - or the usual suspects whats causing no audio output outta jamstix-
BTW - I love the changes/color scheme for j2 - very easy on eyes - the brown reminds me of my beloved ensoniq Paris system - happy times !

well - i found the drums were not mapped to anything - hence - no sound - duhhhh! - but by loading /clicking on a kit it doesn't map out all the kit - it looks like i have manually map each drum piece to a sample ? or else they remain unmapped .... is this right? _________________ Cubase 7 Win 7 |

Please send me the file rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix 2 folder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

|
|
This drives me crazy. I've been trying to use jamstix3 as a Cubase 5 plugin for days now - with completely random results. I don't know if it's Cubase, myself, or jamstix but sometimes (most of the time actually) I get no sound from jamstix although I can see it does play (jam mode) - sometimes (but rarely) it does produce audio output.
This is what what I do:
I have an empty instrument track in Cubase
The track's input is set to All MIDI inputs, it's output to jamstix 3
I'm in normal jam mode, locked to host's song position
A standard song and kit are loaded
I start the Cubase play function -> jamstix3 visually plays but no sound!
The weird thing is that sometimes I start Cubase in this exact same configuration and everything works as expected. Unfortunately, this is rare. Very frustrating! |

Maybe I can help. Open Cubase5 -Empty project
Right click>Add Instrument Track
Click arrow next to "No VST Instrument> scroll down and select jamstix3
In Inspector click Edit instrument>opens JS3 choose the song>double click-load
Press Start in Cubase and voila JS3 plays |

Thanks for trying to help but that's exactly what I did. As I said, I can see jamstix playing but hear no sound (although in rare cases without any change in the project it does work - don't ask me why).
Just to mention it: The other tracks with VST instruments (e.g., Omnisphere or Groove Agent One) work just fine. So it's not a general audio problem. |

Please see if checking 'Downmix' in the JS3 mixer fixes the problem. If so, you need to enable all audio outputs for JS3 in the C5 VST rack. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Downmix was already checked. On/off makes no difference...
It may be something really simple and stupid on my side really... but what? |

Please repeat the problem and then immediately send me rzdlog.txt from My Documents\Jamstix3. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I tried two approaches:
1. Add instrument track -> select js3 -> load 12-bar blues
2. Add js3 to VST instrument rack -> let Cubase automatically create a corresponding MIDI track -> load 800 Hip Hop
No luck in either case. I don't see a way to attach files here, so I'll send them to your email at r.zeuner. |
