Right-click on the tick number in the bar editor where you want the wash to start and select 'Add Cymbal Wash'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It's crash cymbals only at this time but you can use "Redirection" to send the data to a ride. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm using Jamstix 3.
I'm having a slight problem with the cymbal wash.
For some reason, Cymbal 4 is used for the wash sound. The kit I'm using only has #1 and #2 though in it.
The roll on the cymbal isn't smooth enough... for some reason too, some of the hits are X'd out.
Finally, while watching the kit during the wash, it appears that #1 and #2 are the cymbals being hit. They are two different sounds though which would explain why the roll isn't smooth.
Questions are:
1. How can I specify which cymbal is used for the wash?
2. How can I select more than one sound on the grid at a time? I would like to select all #4 cymbal notes and change them to #2.
3. Why are some of the cymbals hits X'd out? There are no other drums in that groove.
Thanks,
SW |

1. You can't but see #2.
2. Hold-drag the mouse around the notes you want to change. Release the mouse button and they will all be selected.
3. Move the mouse over the X and you will see the reason in the status bar. If it is transition time then increase same sound arm speed in the JS3 Options. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

For some reason, redirection doesn't work, at least not for cymbal wash.
Redirection: All -> Ride -> 100%
8th Rock; James Stix; v3.0.2
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help. |

Yes, sorry. Redirection operates only on brain-generated notes. Another way would be to multi-select all crash notes and assign the desired sound with the right-click context menu. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
