Hi, I really appreciate the videos on how to use a 1 measure MIDI file and make it do lots of things. I have followed that and know how to do that.

I'm working now on a song that I have. I want the first 8 measures to be quiet. I loaded 1/8 rock.. and have all loaded.. and chose Q (silent) for the first 8 measures. Is that what I should have done?
I also went to the bar screen and cleared the measures there.

I've not been successful at this yet. Thanks for your help.. If you direct me to something you've already done in answering this?

Thanks.

Just to review.

Song starts without drums. First 8 measures.

Next 8 measures.. drums is in only with bass drum one note per measure, and then the song goes into a full drum part after that.

What's the best and easiest way to create this?

Thx.

Asaph.

I can give you an easy way for the 1st 8 measures.

Just make sure the pattern has 8 bars. Then in the Bar Editor/Song tab click on the small arrow head next to the compose button and choose Clear/Clear entire bar.Do this to all 8 bars.

Or

Do as above to the 1st bar. Then from the Same arrowhead choose to save that bar and just choose the default 1 that comes up and give it a name. Now again from the arrowhead choose to load a bar and when it pops up choose your saved bar and choose 8.This will fill the part with the 8 blanks.I have several saved bars with things likes blanks, single hi-hats on the beat etc.

OK. Good advice. What about starting from somewhere in the middle of the song.

One can copy the "parts" into the DAW. I just tried that.

Do you use that at all?

Also, one can make any of the parts different length measures, right? I was playing with making one 3 measures just for fun.

Question: Can I copy the entire song to a specific starting point. I know I can do "parts" that way. I believe in the manual it says one can do that. That might take care of it as well. But it's definitely nice to have for instance one part created with nothing but hi-hat.

Thx. Asaph.
