|
|
Hi Guys,
I've been having a few issues with jamstix and BFD, would be grateful of any help.
When using a preset beat and BFD, it works fine. All sounds are triggered correctly, and it all sounds normal. But if I set jamstix to "learn", then a lot of sounds either dont get triggered or don't sound right. For example it plays ride cymbals on the high hats.
I figured this must have been due to the mapping settings, so I loaded up a few BFD presets but get the following issue:
If I click on new map, then select "external" and select BFD stereo dll, then I get a white blank BFD window. The plugin loads up, but has nothing in the window?
I'm running Nuendo, jamstix and BFD. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Can't duplicate this here. I am using BFD mappings (like BFD 1). Make sure to hit 'Reset' before 'Learn'. When you the hit the GM hihat keys do you hear ride?

It's a known issue with Jamstix and BFD that we are working on. For now you need to save, close, reload your project to get the BFD GUI back. You could also load BFD outside of Jamstix and route Jamstix MIDI out to BFD input (if Nuendo works like Cubase in that respect) _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just wanted to mention that I experience a similar issue with BFD - that is when I use the "Audit" button in Jamstix to preview my sounds - Jamstix does not appear to output the correct midi note - even though I set the mapping to a certain note, Jamstix actually fires off a different note - I can verify this by using the "learn" in BFD, then firing off a note by using the "Audit" button - BFD sees a totally different note then jamstix says it should be sending. If I am not mistaken though, when Jamstix actually plays a rhythm, it sends the note numbers correctly.....but it really threw me for awhile when trying to create my own mapping
Thanks!!! |

Does this happen with the latest beta? Also, what mapping are you using, what host and is BFD loaded into Jamstix? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hello I will try to be more specific because we all love the Jamstix! This happens in the latest beta as well. First - I’m pretty sure it only happens when I use Jamstix in "Midi-Out Only" mode. I use Cubase SX 2 and BFD. I tested several of the BFD mappings and they all seemed to do this - I load up a BFD mapping (then just set up a midi track with Jamstix as the input and BFD as the output - no drum map) and when I audit sounds from Jamstix some notes seem to be off. For example G2 actually fires off C#2....here is the interesting part...if I select some other note in Jamstix, then re-select G2, it fires off the correct sample when I click off of it...it then however immediately returns to playing C#2 when clicking on the audit button...D2 fires off B1 in the exact same way...like I said only certain notes do this but it is consistent. Hopefully this makes sence and thanks for Jamstix!

I was able to duplicate this problem. This will be fixed in the next beta.
Thanks for the catch! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Glad to hear you could replicate it, I wasn't quite sure if it was me or what! Thanks for your outstanding support!
