First off, let me just say that I am pretty new to all things VST and MIDI, and completely new to JamStix.

While I recognise that this is a deep and very clever VST (I've had some fun jamming with the different drummers), I just want to program my own drums from scratch for the time being on a couple of compositions.

However, when I use the bar editor and play it back the snare sound varies pretty significantly on each hit. I want it to be far more consistent and even.

I'm sure there's a very simple way to control this, but after having a search on these forums and through the manual I can't really see how to do it.

Anybody able to enlighten me?

Thanks

Also should mention I've selected the Silent drummer and style already.

This is caused by JS2 using center and off-center hits randomly. The new JS3 stock kit (and any subsequent new kits) will improve this by having dedicated center and offset sample sets and JS3 using center hits for main snare and offset hits for roll-type events as in fills, etc.

Okay, that sounds great. Thanks for the response.

So, progressed to JS3.

However, seem to be missing 43+ sounds from all the JS3 kits.

I imagine this is something basic I'm doing, but 'missing sounds' is too general a search to come up with any usable results.

All JS2 kits and paks work fine.

Any ideas?

If you click on the missing sound message you will see the specifics. It sounds as if you did not install the JS3 stock kits.

yep, I'm an idiot. Installed JS3 a while ago and was still wrapped up in projects using JS2; totally forget to take this pretty crucial step.

With regard to the problem I first raised in this thread of snare consistency, I'm still getting a lot of variation – is there a specific way you can recommend to address this? I thought the JS3 stock kits would just use the same center hit sample each time?

JS3 snares still use multiple samples but center hits are separate from offset hits. Can you send me a MP3 sample of the variation that you are hearing?
