Similar to other reports here, Cubase 5 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit doesn't pick up Jamstix 2.5.2; I also tried it on Vists64 (multiple boot partitions on the same PC) and it doesn't work there either. Reaper 3 64-bit however, on the same PC, finds it, loads it and runs it without fault! You wouldn't even know it was a 64-bit host running a 32-bit plugin. So shame on Steinberg I guess ...
What I really want to ask is ... is there a 64-bit version of Jamstix on the way ... or is this even possible ... would it have to be a VST3 in order to work properly in Cubase 5-64?
(I've seen JBridge and will try the demo, but the fact is, it should work as a 32-bit plugin with Steinberg's own bridge ...) |

Steinberg's adapter is generally considered the worst (no offense to SB). Until they fix that (or we deliver a 64-bit version), you'll have to use jBridge. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph ... is this confirmation that there will be a 64-bit version of Jamstix sometime in the future? |

Just bumping this, now that Cubase 5 x64 has had an update (5.5) and hotfix (5.5.1) and still doesn't load JamStix 3.0.2 ... Ralph, is it really the VSTBridge that's at fault, or do we know the root cause of it failing?
(@GregHolmes: thanks for the suggestion, but I can run C5 32-bit on the same machine as a work-around ... I'd just like to go all 64-bit and JS3 is the only plugin I own that's not working in C5 x64). |

Ralph, is it really the VSTBridge that's at fault, or do we know the root cause of it failing? | Steinberg support just sucks, so I guess that Jamstix is not the problem, but the Cubase bridge.
I still use Cubase 4 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit just to get out of troubles as much as possible. Besides that I use FX Teleport on the same machine to take advantage of 8GB RAM instead of 4GB.
BTW: There are still a few major plug-in manufacturers that are not 64-bit yet... like FXPansion and Arturia |

I do have to blame the Steinberg bridge because Sonar's BitBridge and REAPER-64 can handle Jamstix 3 just fine. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Please, release asap a x64 version.
I've just reniewed my computer and every stuff with a Cubase 5 x64
The only plugin that doesn't work is Jamstix. I miss it hugely, the worst is I've just upgraded it to the version 3, so I'm over-disapointed now.
Even Virtual Guitarist 2, wich is discontinued, works !
Please.

We're doing our best but it will take a bit of time. Did you try jBridge? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, I had never heard before, so I'l try.
But, do you know that I'm also unable to instal the update ? It says that js3.ini or somehing like that is missing.
let's try jBridge, I'll let you know what happens. |

damn ! I have to pay for it !!! I won't pay for a prothesis.
I've just paid for JS3 upgrade. If I had known this, I would have done better to buy EZDrummer.
How long do you plan to release a x64 version ? |

Well, itīs always good to make an INFORMED decision.
Itīs a known fact that Jamstix is still 32 bit, for a reason.
And please, do me and others a favour and stop swearing and using strong words (itīs only your third post).
Constructive criticism on the other hand is always welcome, though.
I even understand your momentary frustration, but just donīt flame Ralph, please. |

Sorry for the "strong words", I don't speak english very well, perhaps have I used a word I've just seen once and though it was "acceptable". Apologize.
(by the way, is it "damn" or "prothesis", or when I say I'd better buy EZDr ?)
Well, I have a lot of plugins x32 that works in x64. The fact is : I've switched to x64 a couple of days after upgrading to JS3 wich was working very good, during one wekk . |

This is not a solution but you could also use Cubase-32 under Win7 without needing to bridge JS3 for the time being or on a case-by-case basis. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
