|

I use Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit on Win 7 64 bit.
I have the Steven Slate EX pack and it has realy great sounding drums. I am however really not very good at drum programming and am looking at Jamstix as a sollution. So, I downloaded the Jamstix demo and played around a bit. I figured out how to use the brain to come up with interesting sounding songs (still have a long way to go). When I got to the part to use Jamstix with SSD everything started to become muddy.
Inserting a kit in Jamstix gives an error. Wading through tons of google searches made me conclude the problem must be that Jamstix is 32bit and this function is not a good idea. OK, so I try Jamstix midi out and inserted SSD with kontak 3 player on a seperate track. Great, SSD started to play, but it sounded horrible. Only the kick drum play and I can figure out no way of making the whole kit sound.
I have heard so many good comments about Jamstix that I am sure that it must be me doing things wrong somewhere. It would be very much appreciated if you can point my nose in the right direction before I go ahead and buy the package. |

Unfortunately, the JS demo only outputs kick notes via MIDI. You could install Sonar 32 and test the subhosting of SSD that way. If you decide to buy the full version, MIDI driving of SSD as you described will work in Sonar-64. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thank you for the explanation.
Now that you mention it, I checked the demo splash screen that comes up when I start JS. That explains it.
PS. I tried JS with my Notion 3 and inserted the konak 32 bit version into JS. That worked great! |
