I'm guessing this isn't gonna be solved easily (or at all) but I would appreciate any ideas.
I'm using Jamstix 2.5.2 (have 3.0.2 but still using 2 in a project) in Reaper 3.651. OS is Vista.
Loaded a project in Reaper today and there was no output from Jamstix. Nothing. Clicked the FX button on the Jamstix track to open it as a VSTi, and rather than taking me to the song that I'd painstakingly put together, I was presented with the 'Select a song template from the left...' screen.
The Jamstix song has gone.
As far as I can tell*, nothing has changed – I've been working on the project for months and it, along with my system, have been stable and without any problems. Other projects I've been working on at the same time are fine. I haven't even looked at or opened Jamstix in that project for weeks. There's still 'Recorded MIDI' showing in the Reaper tracks.
I did save the song as .jsd file a while ago, so can revert to that if necessary, but I've made so many incremental tweaks since then it would be fairly annoying to have to do so.
Any ideas? I imagine this is a lost cause, but I thought I'd post here as this forum always seems friendly and helpful. Any assistance much appreciated.
Thanks
*I'm a pretty casual user of Reaper and Jamstix, using only basic features, so it would be wrong to discount general idiocy here |

Depending on the JS2 version, data loss can occur if the project is saved while REAPER is playing (not sure ATM if 2.5.2 is affected but I thought not). I recommend not saving in REAPER while it is playing.
Btw, this should not happen in JS3.
You may also want to enable the auto-save feature in JS2/3 for automatic revision saves. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
