I have tried to get Jamstix to function on a 3/4 time signature in EnergyXT (Latest version and latest Beta on WindowsXP and Windows Vista) I have added time signature changes to the track as well as simply adjusted the time signature. Jamstix behaves like the sequencer in is in 4/4 regardless of what it is set to.

It is not this way in MIDI Maestro or Temper. They work fine. I have read the manuals for EnergyXT and Jamstix. Is there something I'm not getting?

If you can help it would be much appreciated. I would rather not have to incorporate another sequencer into my workflow.

Thanks,

Chris

Did you check 'Time Sig Changes' in JS Options and set each part in JS to the desired time sig via the part length dialog?

Jamstix config:
"Allow Time Sig Changes" is selected in options.
Dialog for part length:
6-8 Groove selected
Drummer - Steve
Part length = 4
Part repetitions = 30
Time signature 6 8
Only one part (Verse) in song for testing purposes.

The editor shows 1-2-3-4-5-6-

EnergyXT2 (Standalone) Config:
Sequencer time sig set to 6/8
Set to loop after 4 bars and play

Jamstix behavior:
Editor shows beat goes 3 beats beyond the end of the beat "6" and loops and is silent until it returns to 1 as nothing is composed beyond beat 6.

Experiment performed with EnergyXT:
Specify multiple time signature changes to 6/8 inside the loop.
Result: Jamstix does not see time signature changes.

Experiment performed in MidiMaestro 4:
Set up Jamstix in MM4 and set time signature to 6/8
Result: Works properly/ as expected.

energyXT may not report the time signature properly. Please repeat this and then send me rzdlog.txt from My Documents\Jamstix3.

According to the results of the logfile the problem appears to be with EnergyXT. Now I am waiting for a response from EnergyXT's developers.
