I´m trying to export a miditrack from J.S. for further in depth editing in my host Sonar4. I´ve tried all mapping trix in both Sonar and J.S. that I´ve been able to find on internet.

I thought that the file "DFHS Midi-Out Only" (A DFHS mapping for MIDI-Out only use Provided By AntonyR available under downloads) would solve this issue. But when i try to load it in J.S I get an error message...

Sekims "DFHS MIDI Router" is not the solution for me either (I´m probably not as sharp as Sekim...).

In my opinion it would be lovely beeing able to hit the "Export MIDI File" button with a Dfh Superior drumkit loaded and just go on from there. (From the Dfh site you can download midi mappings for Sonar and other hosts).

If a admin would read this, thanks for a great software! I just read the polls and it would be priceless to have support for odd signatures in J.S!

Marten, what error message do you get when loading it? I created it and use Cubase SX, not Sonar. I would not expect there to be a difference in loading the map into Jamstix as it is Jamstix specific but I am no expert.

One alternative approach to get you moving forward is to click the export midi button to get the midi in GM format, and then in Sonar (assuming you have drum midi editor tool) change the drum map to DFH and then move all snares to the right note, kicks to the right note, etc. In Cubase this is easy to select all snares, then use the CTRL key whilst moving so you don't lose their exact positions. But not sure about Sonar.

In Cubase I can set the input of a midi track to Jamstix and hit record and the midi from Jamstix will be recorded. But again not sure how Sonar works.

Anthony, I get a "stream read error"... I agree with you that the file should be Jamxtix specific, but non the less I get this error message.

Yes, one way is to move the midinotes to the right place afterwords. It´s one thing when you have a distinct beat, but another when you have ghost hits and complex fills. It feels like a lot of the creative energy gets lost trying to figure out where to put all the notes in the latter case. Oh, that´s right, it doesn´t seem that Jamstix exports the ghost hits on the snare at all... They play nicely though when loading the DfhS mapping in to Jamstix.

When I exported the midi with the "DFH Superior FF 900MB.rdm" loaded I almost got the hits in the right place. When A-B listening to Jamstix and DfhS and looking at the exported midi I couldn´t quite get it togeather. I probably just have to wait (hope) for the crew at Rayzoon to integrate Jamstix and DfhS better in the future. Until then I´ll find out the best manual getaround.
