I'm trying to create a simple beat with 8th-note triplets on the high-hat, bass drum on beats 1 and 4+, and snare on beat 3. I put a high-hat on the first 3 boxes of each beat. My first problem is that not all 12 of the notes play. I'm getting 3 notes on beat 1, first and third hits on beat 2, 3 notes on beat 3, and first and third hits on beat 4.
When I turn on 8th-note shuffle I then correctly hear all 12 beats evenly spread out through the 4-beat bar. Why don't all of the 12 notes play when un-shuffled?
I copy the shuffeled bar, and paste them in the following 15 bars. My second problem is that many of the high-hat beats have red-X's saying "Transition from high-hat closed" In bar 4 the first hit on beat 2 is dropped, in bar 5 2nd hit of beat 4, in bar 6 3rd hit of beat 1 and 2 hit of beat 4, etc. The hits getting dropped seems random.
What high-hat transitions are going on that are causing my high-hats triplets from being dropped? |
