Hi Ralph,
Thanks again for the quick reponse.
I've reinstalled the stock kits and got some sounds back (not all - still get a message saying 16 sounds missing). But JS3 still plays erratically (like someone building furniture) and remains unusable.
Thanks again for help and patience. |

Hi There,
Latency is 92.9 msec, which is as low as I can go.
Sometimes JS3 plays sounds (kind of going crazy) and sometimes it goes silent.
The acutal drum samples themselves sound fantastic! |

93ms is a high latency, I wish you could go lower, which would make the problem go away. We're working on making JS3 less dependent on low latencies. Stay tuned. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Thanks Ralph. I do have a 'standby' external sound card - would it be worth trying that with JS3? Maybe it's got a lower latency setting? |

What happens if you lower the latency in your current setup? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Actually your latency is way too high for a DAW...
What is your current soundcard/setup?
Do you have the latest drivers?
It may be useful to try the ASIO4all drivers instead which sometimes can outperform the factory drivers (depending on the brand of your soundcard). |

We have a fix for the high latency issue. Will send it Javolenus for testing. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi There and many thanks for your patience and support.
OK, I swapped my Saffire6 USB soundcard for an E-MU0202 USB soundcard. This permitted me to reduce the latency in Sonar Home Studio to below 50msec.
But JS3 still does not perform correctly. Although the individual drum voices sound great, the program does not play in time or with anything approaching the performance of JS2. It's just unusable.
I'm no expert, as I'm sure you're aware, so I don't know where to go from here. But reducing latency hasn't really helped much. Yes, there are more drum sounds, but the time-keeping is too erratic and the actual patterns too crazy to use.
Many thanks again for your continued help and support. Sorry I can't give better news! |

Hi Ralph and thanks for this.
No, I didn't get the new DLL. I checked my inbox and spam folder but there's no sign of it as yet . . . |

Hi Ralph,
Many thanks indeed for this.
I've now got the new DLL and have installed it. Seems to have fixed the problem! I haven't tested thoroughly yet, but at first glance, everything seems fine. The drum sounds are really fantastic. Jamstix is an incredible piece of kit - joyous!
Thanks again for superb support - I really appreciate it. All the best. |
