I thought that the data folder should be created by the installer, then I can install all my packs.
Of course I haven't downloaded the stock kits, but I should be able to at least install my other packs.
Right now I can not use JS3. How can I fix this?
I really need some guide on how to install everything on JS3, from JS1 to JS2.

Fixed. I need to select the path for the data folder. The installer should have taken care of that, I think.
Anyway, it is working now.

There's something wrong.
I installed all my packs from scratch, using the Install pack button. I think nothing got installed because the JS3 folder only has 39MB and the JS2 folder is 3.5 gigs.
I even used the JS2 migration tool, but still, it seems JS3 is picking the sounds from the JS2 data folder. I need those sounds in the JS3 data folder, in case I uninstall JS2.
I moved some stuff from JS2 Players, Grooves, kits, songs, etc comparing folders, but I get crashes now and then when loading the plug in.
What is the best way to install everything where it should be?
Right now, I am going to start all over again. I will uninstall and install again. _________________ Windows 7 32bits • Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz • Ram: 4GB

I installed the JS3 Stock kits, but those weren't installed on the JS3 data folder either. _________________ Windows 7 32bits • Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz • Ram: 4GB

Are you sure you didn't select the JS2 'data' folder by mistake? Please go to the folder where jamstix3.dll is and open jamstix3.ini. Look at the 'DataPath' entry and make sure it is pointing to JS3 and not JS2. You can edit and save if need be.
The migration tool only copies non-sound data so that the larger sound files are not taken up space twice on the HDD. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

When I installed the packs I used the Install Pack button on the interface, I was never asked where to install them, so, I'm sure I didn't select the JS2 data folder.
This is what the .ini file says:
[General]
DataPath=C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\jamstix3\data
But still there's nothing inside the Sounds folder -only a file named: js3.ini. Inside that file there are references to all sounds available to the plug in.
(I was about to attached a screen shot, but realized I can't attach a picture here).

| Wouldn't be faster to uninstall/wipe all JS2 and start from "scratch" clean install? That will be what I'll do to install JS3. |

That's what I want to do BUT how would that affect projects that currently use JS2? _________________ Main Rig: C5.5(32bit), Win 7 64, i7 970, 12GB, UAD2, FF800, JS3

| Sid, I think JS2 files will be compatible with JS3. Just you might be asked to resave project after. They should open normaly. |

Willy, please look at C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\jamstix3\data and e-mail me a screenshot of what that folder looks like to support <AT> rayzoon.com _________________ Ralph Zeuner
