Ralph
eagerly awaiting JS3
plenty of work refitting my studio right now.... so I can wait

I have a question

I want to buy Native Instruments Abbey Road 60's drums

how will jamstix interface with this sample set (Kontakt player)

Have you looked into this?

JS can subhost the Kontakt player or you can drive it via MIDI out. We don't have a ready-to-use mapping for AR drums but it is easy to make for yourself.

Ralph
thanks for the quick reply

Sounds like it will be easy to do

I'll work it out when I get JS3 and when I get the Abbey Rd drums (who wouldn't want vintage pre 70's drumkits recorded to a Redd console and to 1 inch analog tape at Abbey road studios London???????????)

If I have any problems them.... I'll find out the details from you or through the forum

Smile

I have tried, Abbey Road 70's drums (not 60's but I guess it's similar ) with JS3 and it works flawlessly, you only need to select in Abbey Drums the correct mapping (the toontrack ezdrummer set works), its an easy option to set, the same kit in JS and the midi only option, and you are done.

BTW Abbey Road 70's drums + JS sounds great! It takes a little to load ABD because it has a lot of samples; its better to have the library in another drive so it can start faster.

A quick question: On the Jamstix 3 information page, four prices are listed for the various "levels" of Jamstix, and it shows an upgrade price. I would really like to know what is included in the upgrade price, as well as what is included in the non-upgrade price levels...

Thanks!

The Jamstix 3 Upgrade updates you to whatever level you had in JS2. So, if you had Jamstix 2XXL then after the update you'll have Jamstix 3XXL.

Jamstix 3XL=Jamstix3+XLPak
Jamstix 3XXL=Jamstix3+XLPak+MetalPak+BonzoPak
Jamstix 3 Studio=Jamstix3+XLPak+MetalPak+BonzoPak+Jamcussion

Not long now Very Happy

I'm loving the RC1 so far, awesome work Ralph!

Just one question, is there any way to change the default kit in the song wizard from 'standard'? Of course, I might change my mind once I get my hands on the new kit Wink

Cheers!

You can set the song builder as desired and then save the song to the 'songs' folder. Next time you can then just load that song and the song builder will show the selected values.

Ralph, I have XLPak, BonzoPak and Jamcussion, but don't have MetalPak (not really into Metal). Where does that leave me?

Thanks for the information!

Okay... Confused

Let me try again... When I get my upgrade (given that I've got Jamstix 3 Studio minus MetalPak Smile and already paid for the upgrade), that is what I will STILL have, right? Jamstix 3 Studio minus MetalPak?

I just want to be sure of what it's going to be...

Thanks!
