This a track I did with Jamstix 3 beta 10-12 using superior drummer (Nashville kit). I did everything which includes real guitar and bass guitar. Constructive criticisms welcome especially regarding the mix...

Sorry bakiki, I don't have much constructive criticism for you.
I think it's a fantastic track. I love the horns - they could have very easily been really cheesy but you have them sitting nicely near the back of the mix. Great sound and a nice mix. You could think about pulling the ride back a bit as I found it a little distracting at times.
I know it's an instrumental but I think that the right vocals could be a wonderful addition. Have you ever thought about adding vocals to your tracks?
BTW: I listened to your other tracks on the link. I like them all but "The Problem With You" was my fav.
Thanks for sharing! |

Thank you. All comments welcome.
Yeah, I was think about making the rides less prominent. Maybe cutting more bass or pulling back like you said... I've been spending a lot of time trying to improve my mixing skills, learning how to use dynamics and as you can probably tell from some of the other mixes there has been a lot of learning to do but I'm slowly getting there.
Yeah, vocals, would be nice but haven't had any ideas yet.
Thanks for your input. |

Not the final mix but I was hoping it was sort of moving in that direction. My previous mix was alittle muddy in the lower freq so I tried this time to separate the kick and bass more.... I thought it was a lot clearer this time.
What would you suggest it needs...?
Thanks for the comment |

| awesome... I think the mood of this song is incredible... I agree with another post about vocals though... I would love to hear a soulful 70's style sort of 'whiter shade of pale' vocal there... but it's a great melodic moody tune even without the vox. |

Thank you for the comment. I'm glad your feeling some sort of mood there. I'm quite happy to be getting a mood across in the track even if sometimes I'm not getting the mix right. |
