Here is my latest. All the particulars are on the page.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

I'll be quite honest: I can't get into this very well; it's not really my kind of music. That said, here's my take on it. The vocal melody doesn't quite reveal itself to me. I think the intonation could be clearer... but perhaps that's just me being ignorant. It grooves pretty well; the clap is pretty harsh on my ears, though, especially since I'm listening on headphones. The mix seems a bit oversaturated (and I think it even has few spots of clipping distortion) and perhaps too aggressively mixed in some passages. Nice arrangement; as far as I do grok the melodic aspects of this, I like it.

My rating: 6 out of 10.

Not my main music either, but I liked it, especially since the melody wasn't hugely clear, that was kinda cool. The track did seem distorted, though. Keep praisin' brother!

I'd agree with that... to much high-mid frequencies.

Cause?
- Maybe your monitor speakers are low quality?
- Maybe your hearing has a big dip in the mid frequencies, which you might compensate with EQ when you mix? This might be the case when you are a loud playing MP3 listener....

Advise:
- Be sure that you mix on speakers with a more-or-less flat frequency spectrum. Small PC-speakers wont reveal low frequencies enough, and too strong subwoofers might "blind" higher frequencies, which could make you EQ too much at higher frequencies.
- Listen to the frequency spectrum on commercial CDs in your mixing room and get used to what you hear. Don't train yourself with MP3 downloads as tthey might be overcompressed which could turn into nasty dynamics distortion in various frequency bands during playback.

Now about the song...
First I thought... Yipeee!! Another song with a wannabee Cher effect that nobody wants to hear anymore...
But then it started to remind me of the 80's music by some artist called TAFKAPTSETCHPANWTBKAPA (The Artist Formerly Know As Prince That Sued Everyone That Called Him Prince And Now Wants To Be Known As Prince Again).
In fact I think it's a very nice song, but you should admire the natural voice a little more in the lead vocal Cool

Hey Ric,
Took a while to really kick in and just as I was really starting to dig it, it finished!!
At first I thought that it was a bit of a mess but I really liked the way it all came together. I just wish it didn't take as long present that cohesion and it could hit that funkier part right at the end for longer.
I agree with previous comments that it's a bit toppy and it sounds like the main vocal get overdriven in a few places.
Nice work!
