I started using the BETA3 about a month ago to conform it into my workflow. Now it tells me I have to have a purchased version or it will no longer work putting me back to JS2. I have not worked hard at becoming prefecient with Beta3 to go back now. I also when you posted it have already prepaid for JS3 ahead of time. What do I do to get to get to continue using Beta 3.

Second question. I like to install the JS program on my D\Audio Prog\VSTPlugins\Beta3. but then I alread have the drukits unzipped to another partition with all of my other softsynth samples. How do i get the JS3 software to find and use the drumkits on the other partition. I have tried cutting and copying the data folder from the install folder to the drum sample folder, restart Beta JS3 it says cannot find Beta JS3 data folder and search for it.I go to where it is on the sample partition but it says this is not the Beta JS3 data folder.

If i was not already bald I would have pulled my hair out over all of this. Please help.

Ralph thanks for the answer. I had already tried downloading the beta version and then reinstalling it and I still got the message that it needed the license but I will try it again and you did not answer my second question about using different drive for the drum samples than I use for the program install. In the past I thought all you had to do was move the data folder from where you installed the program to where you had installed the drums but this did not work. Any other suggestions appreciated.

I uninstalled the JS3 beta and redownloaded the beta version and reinstalled it but I am still getting the same message saying the beta version has expired. I can go back to using JS2 but I would like to stay working with JS3 shown by my already purchasing JS3. Any answers of how to get it to continue to work until the complete new version is released will be greatly apprreciated.

You are running Beta 8. Please remove any jamstix3beta folders on your system and install Beta 14.

Hi russellkeys

It still reports that you have beta8 installed.

Do a search for the jamstix3.dll dated 1/03/2010 and make sure
it is in the correct VSTplugins folder

Or reinstall and make sure you select the correct VSTplugin folder, on
the second installation screen.

Ralph,
Sorry to keep bothering you but no matter what I try it does not work. I uninstalled JS2 and JS3 went into start, run, regedit and did a search for jamstix and deleted anything that had jamstix in it in my registry. Reinstalled the Beta 14 version to D:\Prog\Steinberg\VSTpluins\jamstixbeta3 and still got the same message that Jamstix had expired and needed license. Here is my rzlog again. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe worth you clarifying further. After uninstalling JS2 and JS3 did you reinstall JS2 (and where to?) and authorise it before installing JS3? The JS3 beta needs an authorised version of JS2 to work I believe.

The log shows that jamstix3.dll is located in

D:\Audio Prog\Steinberg\Vstplugins\

Make sure you point the beta installer to the correct location for data and plugin. Whenever the log shows Beta 8, you know you've updated the wrong place.

This where i install my vstplugins , D:\Audio Prog\Steinberg\Vstplugins..
I do not know how to point the beta installer to the correct location for data and plugin. Whenever the log shows Beta 8, you know you've updated the wrong place.
All I know is I installled it according to your directions explicitly and when I select it as a VSTinst in Cubase5 it gives me the message it is expired. Thank you fo not giving up on me. i cannot see why this is so hard to get past.

When you run the installer, it will first ask you for the desired data location. Select any place you like here. After that, the installer ask for the plugin location. Select 'D:\Audio Prog\Steinberg\Vstplugins'.

After that, you should see Beta 14 when JS3 loads up (bottom of GUI).

Ralph,
I know this is getting frustrating to you trying to help me. Beleive me you are no more frustrated than I am. I say this next statement not to put down jamstix because if you look at any of my many post in the past you can see I have always been thrilled with JS as a program and your tech support has been awsome , I am just stating this statement to show you I am not a newbie to softsynths, I have had JS since JS1,JS2, JS2 with percusion, I own and run Kontakt, SampleTank2.5, SonicSynth2, SampleTron, SampleMoog, Philharmonik Orchestra, Guitart Rig 4, Akoustik Piano, Bandstant, and B4 and I have no problems running any of them.
I have once again followed your instructions to a tea. Once I installed JS3 the way you explained on startup in Cubase it asked for the location of the data folder I browsed to it and then JS3 came up with same message saying it had expired and I need the license for it. How long before the finished JS3 comes out. I hate to but it looks like I am going to have to go back to working with JS2 until that time, but this really frustrates me because I have become very familar and happy using JS3. Any other suggestions please!!!!!!!
