I'm working on a Ska song and was wondering what the best kit and drummer is to use. I only have JS2 and the XL pak. So I don't have access to the MetalPak drummers (which I've seen suggested for Ska on this forum before). I also have Addictive Drums, so if you could recommend a good preset in AD, I'd appreciate it also. I'm asking the same quesiton on the AD forum. Meanwhile, Ralph's earlier suggestion of using the Half-Time Two-Step style is spot on!

Peace \/

I recommend the Steward Copeland or Mark Brzezicki models because of the busy hihat and tomtom work.
I would not recommend a big deep metal like drum set though.
I would use a smaller one or simply tunethe drums up a bit.
In AD I think you can get good results with the Sonor set pitched up a bit.

For snares try ones with the hammers or no wires and add a tambourine on top.

All those quick "recipes" should go in the manual or a Wiki... Our power users are such great assets. Their knowledge should be keep somewhere.

Thanks Sheppol!
