Ralph
further to my email fo yesterday about live loops going 'out of sync' if it is a real bug/problem could it be related to the presence of parts within the song that are not of the same core bar length which when you try to switch back to a previous part can sometimes throw the whole thing out of sync.
Or are you not meant to be able to switch backwards and forwards between parts.

We're still working on it. Having trouble to duplicate this. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

|
|
| Ralph having just read sonicviz's latest posting it reminded me of the fact that sometimes with live loops activated all the bars are completely empty (visually) - the rythmn is playing ok but the bar editor is empty. If you switch live loops off then all is back to normal. |

Further thoughts on this out of sync problem.
If all the parts have the same number of bars then all is well and the parts play through fully before changing. Its also fine in going back and forward through the song structure.
However if all your parts are say 4 bars in length and you then introduce say a 2 bar intro the 4 bar parts will not always play all the way through (I guess it depends on at what point you send the prog change message).
If you also have a part that is 1 bar in length it becomes even more chaotic.
I've also noticed that the highlighted song part will change with a prog change message however if you have a part that is designed to play all the way through and then automatically go onto the next part the highlight stays on the previous part. |

Further to the above posts i'm still having unpredictable results in using live loops.
There are times when sending Program changes does not have any effect and jamstix starts at the beginning and continues as If Live Loops is switched off yet other times with exactly the same setup file it works OK.
puzzled
using ableton live ver 6.10
In Live I use a series of session clips in a seperate MIDI track to send program change messages to the slot with Jamstix. Could it be that sometimes there is some delay in these reaching Jamstix?? |

|
|
The above message was posted in response to a very frustrating yesterday evening when what ever I did jamstix would not respond to program changes. I finished by saving the project.
Today however I opened the same project and chose a section mid way through to start and hey presto all is well and during the past few minutes of testing I can switch succesfully from one part to another no problem
Still puzzled?? |
