Here's a song I did last week with jamstix. I will have to remove the vocals for the demo submission though, they're just placeholders for the vocalist, and I cannot enter the vocal version in the competition! Plus the song isnt finished, I have to finish the ending, but I wanted a few opinions on the drumming and how it could be improved. I will submit the final version when I refine the ending.

Drums used - StageKit1 in the General Midi section in Stormdrums. Any opinions and suggestions on improving the drumming appreciated!

Nice pop song!!
First I thought the drums to be very impressive - but in the end they seem a bit overcompressed. In the beginning they sound very crispy and hard but they get a bit nerving on the way. Maybe sometimes less is more ...

As for the vocals: Punjabi? Hindi? I cannot exactly identify the language but maybe I could try to find some English equivalent if you tell me what they are about.

The pads are great - how did you do them?
One final comment: With some polishing I think this beast could be a nice pop-hit!

Thanks for the comments waran!

The drums are not processed at all, they are straight out-of-the-box Stormdrums. Maybe I'll try a different kit. Someone told me the crash cymbals were too much, maybe Ill reduce them as well. I dont have DFH or BFD yet. I plan on getting DFH-2 if thats good enough.

Vocals - Hindi. What do you mean by English equivalent? The guy is asking his girl why she cheated him and what were her motivations in pretending to love him, and that he wants to forget those memories now.

Pads - Spectrasonics Atmosphere -> Hollywood Strings patch. Chords played with the keyboard, no processing. I use them for most songs, they sound great.

The song definitely will be used commercially, we will be recording vocals etc and mixing it by the end of the month.

We need a bit more time on the selection process. The winner will be announced tomorrow.

Thanks!

Neole, did you ever send us your final submission or do you want us to use this version? Vocals are not a problem.

hi
wow.. what an awesome product
i downloaded the demo 2 days ago, played around for 'bout an hour
and decided to buy it, right away ! i really enjoy the dynamics this plugin
adds to a track.. in my opinion much better than GA, also the arranger windows is something i missed in GA all the time..
so i sat down and played around, i may not be the best
track, but it was my first afternoon with jamstix Smile

i know the competition is already over, but i feel this thread may be
still the right place to post it, so here it is, have fun:

http://www.asamnet.de/~wesselyt/buc/jamstix_jojo.mp3

just some guitars (fender strat) through v-amp2 and jamstix
i must say jamstix is really easy to handle to get decent results..
can't wait to play with it again, next weekend

greets from a new happy owner @ germany

Hey, hey, very nice track! Good groove and energetic play, I really like it. You've got some nice fat sounds going.

The only thing missing is the bass so keep a copy of this one until JamBace comes out Smile
