Hello there,
I've just got around to learning how to use my Jamstix so please don't go over my head.
I got a bit despondent when things didn't seem to work properly using SONAR Studio 5-8 , and even SONAR Producer 8, but everything seems fine using SONAR Producer 8.5. Well, almost everything.
Using Jamcussion, which is really exciting and just what I want, I'm finding that there are elements of Western kits creeping into my songs. For example, I might be using the ' Africa- Gong and Rainsticks ' preset ( beautiful ! ) with say, ' Brush Player ' and there's a snare drum whacking away which isn't in the kit setup.
In all likelihood this is down to my total lack of experience but I wonder if someone could give me some pointers to eliminate this problem. It's such complicated software that I could spend days poking about and never solve it.
Regards,
moon. |

You should only use 'Percy' or 'Handy' for Jamcussion as those are Jamcussion players. The other drummers may throw in drumset sounds. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thank you, Ralph.
Any more instruments and drummers planned for Jamcussion ? It's a great tool. Tablas spring to mind, mridangam and even timpani , in fact anything outside of the normal Western kit. With bands like Tinawiren making such an impact there must be huge potential for such sounds outside of Europe and the USA.
How about tonal percussion ? A bass marimba ? Angklungs ? Balinese gongs ? Just throwing stuff atcha , Ralph. Jamstix is great. |
