The choked cymbals seem to be an issue since SSD 3.5 has dedicated choke samples versus a software choke. I'll ask Steven if there's a MIDI work-around. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Got word back from Alex: the current SSD only has choked samples but no choking mechanism. That means you can't use SSD choking in JS as with JS, BFD, DFHS etc.
He said that a MIDI-based choking mechanism is planned for their next product 'Deluxe'.
We will have a SSD mapping (without choking) soon. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

...It just hit me that Jamstix allows you to subhost just "some" sounds, and I'll mainly be using SSD for kick & snare replacement... So I'm not really affected much at all.
Yay for me!!! |

We should have something mid next week. We are still working out issues with MIDI CC on hihat opening. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just released 2.5.3 Beta 12 with SSD mappings. Some important notes:
a) due to the way SSD handles CC4 and the fact that it only has 4 hihat states, we decided to just use the samples directly (no CC4).
b) some kits use the shanked hihat (i.e. Zep kits) and some the normal bow hits.
c) after loading one of these kits you can easily change to a different SSD kit by simply opening SSD in JS2 and selecting a new multi. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Figured I'd just post here rather than making a new topic...
I just bought Slate EX through the $20 deal going on at audioMIDI, downloaded the kit mappings posted on the Library, and all of a sudden my double-kick parts aren't playing.
One kick comes through, but the other foot appears to have vanished. I've tried various settings on the Slate player's Kick instrument, but nothing has helped.
Any thoughts?
Edit: Alright, that part's solved. Something set all of the kick notes to play on the same foot, and the off-hits are being played really wimpy as a result, so I wasn't hearing them.
I'd be interested to know how this happened, and if there's any way to force the use of both feet. |
