First, I have to say that Jamstix is simply incredible.

I've noticed that when Jamstix is playing quietly, it will only play the side stick on the 4th beat. How do I get it to continue playing sidestick on 2 and 4 when the velocity is below 70 percent?

Go to the Jam tab and uncheck the box 'Reduction'

Beauty. Works great; less filling. Very Happy This program gets better and better by the minute.

Another question: How can I get Jamstix to occasionally play the ride cymbal bell? I'm using the internal Jamstix sounds.

Make sure the Semi-Hats/Ride slider in the jam style panel is all the way right. The more left you slide the 'power sensitivity' slider in the jam control panel, the easier Jamstix will enter Power Play during which it will play the ride. Just experiment to find the setting that fits your taste with the given MIDI or audio input.
