|
|
I figured out how to get the AD demo working with JS2 by loading AD separately and sending the JS2 MIDI out to the AD track. The problem is, when I load the AD mapping in JS2, it automatically loads AD as a sub-host. Then I have to turn on MIDI only mode so it unloads it. I tried saving a custom kit after enabling MIDI only mode, but it doesn't seem to save this parameter. Can I save a kit that just acts as a MIDI map and not load any additional sounds in JS2 or sub-host the DLL?
Thanks! |

The 'MIDI Out Only' is not stored in the kit file but it is stored in the host project file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Is it possible to load a mapping without sub-hosting the DLL? |

Try creating your desired AD kit in JS2 (with the DLL loaded) then click 'Edit' in the kit widnow to bring up the AD GUI and click 'Remove' at the bottom. Now save the kit and see if it works. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Not only did that work, but if I load the AD kit this way and then load the DLL separately from within JS2, I get all the samples! So you fixed both of my issues in one go! Thanks, Ralph!
BTW, does JS know to not play a sample that isn't loaded or do I have to manually disable it in the brain or somewhere else? For example, if I don't have any toms loaded, does JS know not to program toms into the loop, or does it still add them and I just won't hear them? If so, can I disable them completely regardless of the drummer model that is loaded?
Thanks again!

If there are less than 5 toms then events for missing toms are routed to existing toms. Same thing for cymbals. So, notes are never removed from the brain because a kit piece is missing. Instead it is routed to another piece.
You'd have to set the 'Focus' to zero toms in the fill generator to suppress toms in fills. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
