I have a song which requires a half bar of 4/4, in the middle of a verse.
As Jamstix doesn't do half bars I tagged this half bar part onto the preceding bar and called it 6/4. I did this in my sequencer (Tracktion 2)
and created the one bar part of the song in 6/4 in Jamstix at the appropriate place in the song structure. I enabled time signature changes in the Options menu.
Jamstix just stops playing when the 6/4 bar appears, goes through that bar silently, with no drum activity indicated in the bar editor, and then starts playing in the next bar in 4/4 again.

I'm not sure what else I should be doing. I haven't set any transition fill as this 6/4 bar is in the middle of a verse and I just want the drums to play through it as if it were a bar and a half of 4/4, with the kick on the beats and the snare on the off beats. Drummer is STeve set to 8th note rock.

Did you properly set time sigs in JS2 for all the other parts?

All the other song sections were automatically set to 4/4 by default by Jamstix. Do I need to do something else?

Ralph
When I looked at this again, this is what is happening in the 6/4 bar. The first two beats of the bar, as the other instruments in the song actually play, occur on beats 5 and 6 in the Jamstix bar editor, but there are no drum symbols on those beats, and no sound from Jamstix. Beats 3,4,5 and 6 as the other instruments play occur on beats 1,2,3 and 4 in the Jamstix bar editor. The expected drum symbols for a 4/4 bar in 8th note rock occur on these beats but there is no sound from Jamstix.
As the song goes into the next bar (back into 4/4 in the sequencer and Jamstix) the Jamstix bar editor shows a 6 beat bar but drum symbols only occur on beats 1 to 4 in the editor and sound occurs as in a normal 4/4 bar. This is fully synchronised with the rest of the instruments in the song.

I'm not sure what you mean by the project file. This is different to a rzdlog file? Where do I find it in Jamstix?

What e-mail address do I use to send it to you as I can't attach things to posts in the forum can I?

Sorry for my technical ignorance!

thanks

I realise you are busy with Jamstix 3 etc but I wondered if you had looked at the song files I sent you a couple of weeks ago.

thanks

I still cannot load a proper project from the file(s) you've sent. Are you using Tracktion 3? If the project file is too large even when zipped, please remove audio clips from it too make it smaller.

I'm using Tracktion 2 but would have thought it would load in Tracktion 3.
I did exclude the audio files as they were too big. Basically all there is is Jamstix!

I got it to open in Tracktion 2. Here is what I found: your host has a single 6/4 bar at #27. A part in JS2 can only have one time signature so you need to have a single part with length/rep of 1 and time sig 6/4 to match it. You cannot have a time signature change in the host without a part change in JS2.

Yes I was aware of that and programmed a part in Jamstix which is one bar long with the time signature change to 6/4. Is there something else I should be doing?

The 1-bar 6/4 part in JS2 is at bar #23 but in Tracktion it occurs at bar #27.
