It does not matter, it leaves you time to improve even more Jamstix 3.
Go, work Ralph!

Ralph,Would it be possible to have a T in the top right hand corner that you can click, and enable/disable so Jamstix 2 stays on screen?
It would be usefull when trying out compression etc with plug ins on the drums,to have both the plug in and Jamstix on the screen at the same time,so you can see and hear what the difference is when changing compression/eq etc settings for the drums. _________________ EMU 1820M user |

Ralph,
Are there any plans to have J3 be able to follow tempo changes that are already setup in the host?
Or is this already working, and I just haven't been successful at getting it to work?

JS should follow the host's tempo, including tempo changes. Works for me. _________________ Win7 RC, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Sonar 8, Superior 2 |

Tempo changes need a bit of set-up:
- check 'Enable Time Sig Changes' in JS2 Options
- create a part in JS2 for each time sig section in the host
- click the reps/length of each part to set the time sig for that part _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK, great, thanks.

Unfortunately any software UI typically needs to address 2 audiences:
* Marketing: Those yet to buy - needs to be eye-catching/beautiful
* Users: Those who have bought - needs to be efficient and logical
Sometimes those 2 needs can combine - but where they can't you need to have "Options" to disable, re-size, etc... so that both needs can be met.
For long time users, such as myself, the graphics are not that relevant anymore, except where they support the functionality. Factors such as workflow/control improvements for common activities will be appreciated. I'd start with a priority queue of the most commonly performed actions and ensure that the top 10 could be performed with a single-click. The less common activities can require 2 or more clicks - in proportion to their frequency of use.
The other concept to consider is "context switching". It is common for any task to have a number of different contexts, e.g. Arranging whole song, working on kit sound, experimenting with single loop. When inside this "context" the top 10 actions should be just a single click away. Jamstix basically supports this idea anyway - might just need some more clarity/commitment to the notion.
Thanks again. Easily my favourite piece music software. Keep up the good work (and amazing support).
Damien. |

One of JS's selling points was its ability to be used with my older 1.7 Ghz cpu. Will JS 3 be as easy on the processor?

JS3 will be as easy on the CPU as JS2 if used in a similar way. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Sorry to bring this up once again - my english isn't very good and i am not sure i have understood this correctly. You say customers who bought JamStix 2 on/after 5 may 2009 will have a free upgrade to JamStix 3. That means i am eligible for an upgrade if i bought it after 5th may onwards, right? If i bought it, like, 5 minutes ago? |

I assume that "05/11/2009" is American date convention, meaning May (5th month) 11th (day) 2009. I don't know where 5th of May came from…
11th of May this year, in other words.
"On or after" would mean if you bought JS2 anytime after 00.00 hours on May 11 up to whenever JS3 is released.
Best,
Joachim |

Yes, Anatoly, you are eligible for the free upgrade. You will receive an email with download information as soon as it is released. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
