Hi Ralph - I sent this message to sales - thought I'd post it on the forum too to see what others think.
Personally all of the messing around with Wine, Crossover, Bootcamp etc etc would cost more in time and grey hair that I am prepared to spend. People go Mac to achive a clean environment to work in. Simple as that.

Hi Guys
I bought Jamstix a while ago but very shortly afterwards switched onto a full Mac + Logic 8 set up. Can’t use Jamstix on Mac – but really miss this – it’s a fantastic idea and app.
At the time I looked at the forums to see if there was any info about Mac compatibility and discovered that the app has to be ported from Delphi.
I was just wondering what the latest position is with regard to a Mac compatible version.
I am one of a stack of customers that would buy a Mac version. I am sure that there are lots more. The chances of somebody else coming up with a Mac version of something similar get higher all of the time. From there it would be easy to port into a PC compatible version.
I realise that you guys have a lead right now. But I would encourage you to fill out the compatibility space before a new competitor on Mac (and then PC) is allowed to take a foothold.
There must be a good several thousand licences of sales available straight off the bat. Why don’t you offer a pre-order facility to bolster the business case for doing a Mac version? This would secure some new sales and hold the position until a Mac version is ready.
I would do this anyway – the announcement alone will warn off any competitors and give you a bit of profile.
What news guys?
Joe

Ralph - you could subcontract the porting job to India and get it done quickly and cheaply. How many licences would you need on order to justify this investment. Bear in mind that if you don't do it - somebody will eat your lunch.
You could send out a pre-order e-mail to your contact list and see what happens. If there is no demand - don't bother doing it. Case closed.
All the best

Thank you for your input! However, we are VERY hesitant to take pre-orders without a reasonably firm release date. We continue to fight with various code porting and OSX peculiarities while working on the Jamstix OSX version. As soon as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, we can start thinking about pre-orders etc. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph
Thanks for your response. Understand your position. I believe that it would indeed be illegal to actually accept payment for a pre-order for something that cannot be physically delivered. However, I believe that it would be possible to accept a note of interest pending completion of the development. This would allow you to scale demand and de-risk development to a certain extent. Just a thought.
Best Regards
