OK, so Phil's jamming along quite nicely with no input even though he showed up late, drunk, *with* his girlfriend even though we've quite clearly stated that there are no spectators allowed at rehearsal...honestly I can't stand the guy and as SOON as we find another guy with two sticks he is outta here.
But he does keep good time, when he shows up, so we'll suffer through till then. Anyways.
We have a certain section of this one song where he insists on keeping the hats closed. I want him to open them..I dont want to change the part at all, i just want him to open the friggin hats a bit. I clicked on the note in bar editor, then clicked on the little hihat picture and dragged the hats open a little, then a lot, and yet no change. What gives?
Fuggin Phil. I hate that guy. Seriously. |

I don't know why manually opening the hihat isn't working, but the easiest way is to set the 'Power hand' to open hats (or say 25% or 50% open, if you like), and set the slider to just high enough that it doesn't normally trigger open hats. Then create an automation envelope for JS' Power Level parameter, and raise that envelope in the desired section until open hats are triggered there. _________________ Win7 RC, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Sonar 8, Superior 2 |

Another way is to use a MIDI envelope on #4 in the host to control hihat opening. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
