When recording songs in Sonar 8 I usually start the song at measure 3 in order to compensate for the early striking of the first guitar chord.
If my song starts at measure 3, does that mean I have to go to Jamstix's options and set "Bar Offset (Actual)" to 2?
And what about "Bar Offset (Visual)"?
I can't find it in the manual but I may be suffering from information overload.

Not sure I understand but sounds to me as if you just need to set the Intro part in JS2 to the desired length, i.e. 3 bars

When you start a song with acoustic guitar, the guitarist actually hits the strings before the very first beat of the song. If you start a song exactly at the zero point, the attack of the chord is missing.
To avoid that, many musicians will leave a 2-bar buffer of silence and actually start to record on the 3rd bar. This way the early beginning of the 1st chord is heard.
So I'm wondering how Jamstix fits into this. I thought maybe the "offset" functions in options would address this.
Can you explain to me the purpose of the 2 offset functions in options? Is there a way to have Jamstix understand that the song starts on the 3rd measure?

The bar offset options are used for hosts that manipulate the VST song position (either due to bugs or functions like count-in). You don't need those for your situation.
Simply have an 'Intro' as the first part of your song in JS2 and set it to length 2. Jamstix and your host are in synch and will play bars 1 and 2 in silence. At the end of bar 2 JS2 will play a fill to start the song. You can suppress this by unchecking the T-Fill box for the Intro part.
