Hi Ralph (or anyone else who can help?)

I have a quick question regarding the plugins folder on a Windows XP system.

Whenever I install a VST plugin the installer program always asks if I want to install the plugin in "Program Files/FASoft/ntrack/Vstplugins", although I have long ago uninstalled n-Track. I have since installed Sonar, but the old plugins pathname always comes up when I unstall a new plugin.

Is there a data file in Windows that stores a default plugins folder pathname? If so then I would like to edit this and set it to my current plugins folder within Sonar. I know I can just type in the correct folder when installing a plugin but I would like to change the default setting.

Many thanks

You can change the default if you are comfortable using the registry editor. The path is stored in local_machine\software\vst.

I've found this very handy:
