Hi Rayzoon
I have ditched my athlon for a I7 running Xp.
I have a laptop and jamstix is perfection.

I have a Emu 0404 usb soundcard/box linked to my I7 computer service pack 3..
I have loaded all plugins including Fm8,pro 53 FL Producer Sonar 8 producer and all their plugins. and of course norton ghost.
If I do some work on Sonar and FL, Jamstix sometimes will not open.
I have been banging my head over this.
Eventually I turn off the Emu 0404 and my fatboy controller and re-load FL Producer.
You get a screen saying their is no soundcard attached.
I double click and go into FL and try Jamstix again .
low and behold it opens!!!
I then turn on the controller and Emu 0404come out of FL and go back and it opens again ok.
I think once you open jamstix it stays in the ram
If I turn off the computer and re-start the problem comes back.
Is their an issue with Usb Emu's or is it service pack 3 ?????
I have found that work around for now but it is a little annoying.

I would appreciate any help on this as I am setting up my new computer before ghosting the drive.

All the best

John sammons

Hi Ralph
I have pinpointed the problem. I am using ASIO EMU0404 driver

Sonar 8 producer opens Jamstix with my asio Emu driver.ok.

In Fl Studio Jamstix hangs after trying to form itself with the Emu asio usb driver engaged. After it hangs and I use control alt delete and go back in to FL,it reverts back to the primary sound driver automatically.
If I go to the emu basic driver or primary sound driver it opens every time.
So now I have to open FL Studio on the primary sound driver or emu basic to open Jamstix and then go back into the drop down and replace it with the emu asio and then it is ok.
This seems weird to me but this is what is going on!!!!

Very odd. We can't duplicate any of this here but we also don't have an E-MU 0404. What version of FL is this with?

Hey Ralph I have BUNGLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to the EMU site and thought the latest firmware for o4o4 was only for the emu 0404 tracker unit.
This update is for three types of emu units which include the 0202.
I looked carefully again and decided to download an when installing you have a choice of which unit you want to update.( I was dubious as if i did the wrong thing ,I might mess up the 0404)
So I did and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jamstix now opens every time .
I re-started about eight times and it opened.
Not only that everything is sharper and the cpu on the I7 is almost non existent.
It is amazing when you walk away from something like a problem and come back after a rest the brain seems to kick in better.
Maybe I need a firmware update as I am 58.
Any suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't go there!!!!

All The best
John ps My head hurts!!!
