I am trying to get Jamstix to play in Jam - no input but all I can do is use the loop that repeats one measure. How do I get it to play a whole song by itself? Do I always need a midi input for Jamstix to work? Embarassed

I'm with you - I seem to be lost as to how to start.

I've read and watched stuff but I'm treading water here.

Try adding a new part. Generally, each part is going to be one groove, repeated as long as you specify, so you'll probably want to make a part for intro, for each verse, chorus, break, etc., and then modify them as needed. For instance, you might want to have closed hats on the verses and open on the chorus- so make a new part, title it chorus, and set the 'Power Hand' in the groove section to open hats.

I suspect his timeline isn't playing when he presses play in his DAW.

In a global setting on your DAW you may have the Now Time set to stop at the end of the project. Therefore if no midi or audio is in the tracks, then it won't start. Uncheck 'stop at project end' and the song should play through.
