First let me say, I'm really enjoying the program. It's perfect for my bass player and I because we play with a drum machine and then later use jamstix to replicate the kick/snare and expand the beats with cymbals and fills etc.

I had this problem before but it didn't bother me enough to worry about. I have a midi file of kick/snare that the midi drum module will play just fine, but once I import it into the groove importer, it's not the same. The problem appears to be snare or rather, the groove importer does not want to play the same number of snare hits(it's sort of a snare roll that the groove importer wants to play in eighth or sixteenth notes, it wants to space them out in other words).

I know it's capable of doing it, the brain does it all the time on fills. It just doesn't seem to be importing correctly. Or am I doing something wrong?

Here is what it is supposed to sound like:

Here is what it sounds like after I import it:

Thanks in advance for any help.

The importer is meant for basic structures and will not translate all nuances of a MID file into the confines of the JS2 bar editor rules. When using the drum module mode, the MIDI is directly played so the issue doesn't arise there. I recommend you manually fix the snare in the bar editor of the part.

Okay.

Nonetheless, still an amazingly great program. With a bit of work, it can make it sound like you have one of the best drummers in the world playing with you, kind of out of place for those of us who aren't very good guitar players!

Thanks for the reply.
