|
|
i've imported a drum part and set the Roger drummer to play better fills than the ones I'd previously programmed, but keepting the basic groove I imported, This is working brilliantly.
However, in one section of the song I;ve checked no transition fill but Jamstix continues to play one. It doesn;'t show in the relevant bar when I look at fills but it does appear in the groove section! Might this be because there was previously a fill there but I wanted Jamstix to ignore it?
How do I stop this fill being played?
Also, the Roger drummer is putting some cymbal accents into one section of the song that didn't have any there before. they don't show up in any of the section windows for groove, accent or fill. How do I get rid of these?
Thanks |

This same problem seems to be happening in a song where the Jamstix brain has composed everything. This is 8th rock style, john drummer with 12/8 groove weights loaded throughout the song, as it is in 12/8 time.
In one 4 bar part with 3 repeats I have checked transition and repetition fills. However, instead of playing repetition fills at the end of bar 4 only, it is playing them at the end of bars 1 and 2 as well! In the second 4 bar repeat it plays them on bar 2 as well as 4.
I don't know what is happening here! |

I don't know about the other problems but the fill is definitely there because it is in the MIDI you imported. I suspect the only reason you aren't hearing the other fills is because the generated fills are set to "No Groove" so whatever is there is overridden.
You pretty much have to remove the fill in the bar editor and replace it with whatever straight groove you want there by hand.
As for the phantom cymbals, I have run up against that before, and not sure what causes it. |

but one thing you could check is if you have another MIDI track in your DAW set to output to Jamstix accidentally, which may be sending the cymbals.
I have had that happen. |

I've tried this again since updating to 2.5. RC1
I'm now finding that one part of the song that has midi import is not playing at all on the core hits but is playing some fills.
I'm puzzled! |

Send me a song file to duplicate this.
Also, if groove hits are missing but fills play then it is always a good idea to check the song power level for the part. It may be too low. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph
I've sent a song file to the e-mail you have previously given me.
Is there a way to attach things to posts in the forum?
The problem isn't the power level. The level is the same throughout the song but these same hits which are missing at the start play elsewhere in the song fine |
