|

Hi-
I'm using SONAR 8.02 with JS2.5.1 beta 2.
1. When I insert audiom8 to Jam with Audio it usually plays back normally for a bit during playback, but when I stop the transport both CPU cores max out with warnings and SONAR freezes. I have to end the process. This is totally reproducible with this project.
2. When trying to Jam with MIDI I'm hearing JS playing back the actual MIDI track notes translated to drums instead of just analyzing the data. This used to work so I'm obviously doing something wrong now.
EDIT: BTW, "MIDI PLAY IN JAM" is unchecked.
Same as above with SONAR 7.0.2.
Thanks!

I can't duplicate either problem here. Does anyone else see this behavior? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Re #2: This is working now!. It's strange, since I'd double-checked the "MIDI PLAY IN JAM" setting before I posted the edit, but after I closed & re-opened SONAR it was fine. Is it possible that setting doesn't stick right away? At any rate, it's fine now.
EDIT that: I'm getting MIDI input (LED lights), but the Power Level doesn't change, even with the trim all the way up.
The audioM8 issue hasn't changed, though.
BTW Ralph, is there any significant difference b/w automating the Power Level vs. using Jam with MIDI, other than it's ostensibly more sensitive?
Thanks-

Right-click on the power knob and make sure there is no MIDI controller assigned to it since that overrides jam input.

Jam With MIDI has a few additional twists like staccato detection but for most purposes it is the same. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Perfect! As usual...
One more quick question: I have a triplet fill that I loaded into a bar. This works ok, but with Jam with Audio it was even easier, since I could just have the clip on the JS MIDI track and it would play wherever I put it. There's no way to do this with Jam w/MIDI since MIDI Play in Jam is either enabled or not, right? [I really prefer audio jam, but can't use it until that freeze issue gets sorted.]
Thanks again-

Unfortunately you are correct. Jam With MIDI either plays all incoming MIDI data or not. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, that's fine.
One more (I lied )
I know I can loop a bar in either SONAR or JS, but is there any way to freeze just the display of one bar in JS so I can make changes before it comes around again, but still have it in the context of more than just one bar? Hope that makes sense.
