|
|
I have a song using the John drummer where I have made alterations to various parameters in the groove, accents and fills sections for every part of the song. However, when I next play the song Jamstix has undone all the changes!
For example - I don't want early downbeats and kick triplets and put these to 0 on the relevant sliders, but Jamstix changes them back!
I have the drummer/style slider fully to the drummer because I do want the drummers fill habits but want to shape them myself.
Do I need to make the broad changes to parameters and then disable them to stop them being changed?
I don't want to save the song as I am still working on it.
Thanks |

It could be the,"Auto" button in the midi Bar editor page?
I've noticed that even if I disable it it's enabled again when I reload a project in my DAW(Reaper).I wish it didn't do this as it's really annoying |

Jamstix should not change the sliders unless you manually reload the drummer. What host are you using and what version of Jamstix? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No I haven't reloaded any drummers since making these changes.
I'm using Tracktion 2 and Jamstix 2.2.1 (I think - its the one I bought in September last year)

I recommend you get the 2.5.0 update from your download page and then use the 2.5.1 Beta 2 DLL. If you then still have this problem, let me know. A simple test would be:
- load drummer, adjust a specific setting
- save project then reload and see if the setting has changed _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I will get the update. where is my download page.
I'm guessing that the problem is to do with the song I mentioned being in 12/8. I'd mailed you before about this and you kindly produced a 12/8 groove weight which I've used. I want the chorus of the song to have 16ths on a ride cymbal. I've tried 16th rock on full power to switch to ride but it doesn't produce 16ths for some reason. So I'm using RandB style to get the 16ths. But I don't the 16th kicks and follow kicks. whenever I set these to zero the drums don't play in 12/8 time. so I reload the 12/8 groove weights and then the kick settings have returned to default!
Is there any way round this as I don't think the updated version will fix this and I need to get this song sorted!
thanks |

Ralph
somehow this is now fixed! I think I needed to play the song once through to keep the changes I had made. when I didn't do this they seemed to have vanished the next time I opened the song
